2011 Autodrop Invitational, Part I

Today was the Autodrop Invitational -- a ride that promised to be like no other. The weather forecast promised a 20 degree drop in temperature from the day before, so we were a little worried about how comfortable it wouldn't be. That said, Matty and I decided to drive the bikes over to Bob's Big Gas and use it as a SAG vehicle with extra clothes.

We got over there about thirty minutes before the start, registered and said hello to the pals.

Our team, Tha Kuhnull & Joooonyuh, would be racing within our limits in the Local category. We were hamming it up before the ride.
Joooonyuh shows off the Autodrop passport.
And his cool race number
Joooonyuh and the Autodrop team
The Autodrop team registered us in and were in full frenzy. It was a full family affair with Mr. & Mrs. E, Mrs. E's dad and the brother they always wanted, Barry. These guys worked tirelessly and did all the fretting and sweating to make it happen.
The Pros were there to race the Open category.
So, a pro team showed up to race in the Open category, which basically meant they were going to ride a LOT more miles than those of us in the Local Yokel category. Joooonyuh made his way up to 2x National Criterium Champion and all-around pal Mark Hekman and said, "We've won this race. You might as well go home and play your bassoon." Well, Joooonyuh is one for confidence.
